Hospital Manager Margaret Ireland was full of praise for the Arwyp staff following a train accident which occurred at the van Riebeeck Park station on 4 October 2018 at 17h50. More than 300 commuters were injured in some way when the Metrorail train carrying them crashed into a stationary train. Many of those injured were rushed to Arwyp and staff members worked till late into the night to attend to them. Thankfully no fatalities were reported.

Arwyp Medical Centre was happy to sponsor the Arwyp Nite Race for the seventh consecutive year. The race was held from Dries Niemand Stadium on 31 January 2018 and took place on the roads outside the stadium. As in previous years, the race was organized and hosted by the Kempton Road Runners. At the end of November 2017 Arwyp Medical Centre unveiled its impressively renovated reception area on the ground floor of the main building of the hospital.  The renovation has added a further dimension of ease and convenience to the hospital. The hospital is now entered via a spacious open plan area.  Arwyp staff members knitted, crocheted and donated blankets, scarves and beanies for the hospital's 2017 Mandela Day Drive. To make the blankets, Arwyp teamed up with Edleen Pre-Primary School.
