Arwyp Medical Centre was happy to sponsor the Arwyp Nite Race for the seventh consecutive year. The race was held from Dries Niemand Stadium on 31 January 2018 and took place on the roads outside the stadium. As in previous years, the race was organized and hosted by the Kempton Road Runners. At the end of November 2017 Arwyp Medical Centre unveiled its impressively renovated reception area on the ground floor of the main building of the hospital.  The renovation has added a further dimension of ease and convenience to the hospital. The hospital is now entered via a spacious open plan area. This area, which includes the new admissions department, has been designed with comfort and convenience in mind and will make it easier for patients to complete the admissions process.  ...

 Arwyp staff members knitted, crocheted and donated blankets, scarves and beanies for the hospital's 2017 Mandela Day Drive. To make the blankets, Arwyp teamed up with Edleen Pre-Primary School. From 18 to 31 March 2017 the four winning nurses of the 2016 Discovery Excellence Award for Nursing, a competition held for all South Africa nurses, attended a specially developed Nursing Leadership Programme at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston USA.  In addition the nurses completed observerships in various specialties throughout the massive academic hospital and delivered presentations on South African Nursing. The anticipated major renovations have begun on the ground floor of the main building. Workmen have begun dismantling the drop-off zone in order to start with the renovations that will be taking place at the main entrance and which will include the admissions department, the pharmacy and the coffee shop. Arwyp once again enjoyed supporting the local community by sponsoring the annual Arwyp Nite Race. The race was held on 25 January 2017 at the Barnard Stadium in Kempton Park. Although some rain in the morning had threatened proceedings, the evening itself was clear and the participants were able to enjoy the good running conditions. 1070 runners finished the 15km race. Rob Martino is an enrolled Nurse who has worked for five years at Arwyp Medical Centre. Rob recently won the Discovery Health Excellence Awards for Nursing (DEAN) which named him as one of the best nurses in the country! Arwyp accepts the challenge Inspired by the ‘67 blankets for Mandela Day initiative’, staff members of Arwyp Medical Centre took up the challenge to provide 67 blankets to give to those in need. In the weeks leading up to Mandela Day, staff members dusted off their knitting needles and crochet hooks and, along with helpful grannies, daughters, moms and mothers-in-law began knitting and crocheting squares to make up into blankets. This month Arwyp Medical Centre celebrated a huge milestone when it turned 30. To mark the occasion the hospital staff were treated to a 30th birthday celebration. On Friday 27 May a party was held in the parking lot at the customer services building. The theme was Carnival and a carnival atmosphere definitely prevailed.
